How ClearFace Search Works
Editorial
A look at what happens between dropping a photo into ClearFace and seeing the results.
From Photo to Faces
When you upload an image, ClearFace first finds every face in it and aligns each one so it can be compared fairly, regardless of pose or lighting.
Each face is turned into a compact numeric template. The template describes the face, but the original photo is not stored.
From Faces to Profiles
Templates are compared against public figures with verified profiles and against people who have enrolled. Every match comes with a confidence score, and low-confidence matches are hidden by default.
From Profiles to Context
For each match, ClearFace returns the profiles and links the person has made public, the image metadata, and other places the same photo appears online.
